Boat fishing

Boat Fishing can be provided either in Lakes around Rotorua, or for salt water fishers, via Charters located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Fresh water / Lake fishing .

The largest Lake in the Footage courtesy of www.basicinstincts.co.nz district is Lake Rotorua and it is open all year round.

This lake has one of the highest strike rates in the district and if your time is limited or this is your first time to the sport, then this Lake is the best choice.

It regularly produces quality brown trout in the 3 to 5 kilogram range. Rainbow trout are of an equally high quality, with fish between 2 and 3 kilograms consistently being taken. We advise a three hour minimum on this Lake to produce a result.

Lake Rotoiti joins Lake Rotorua by a channel called Ohau. It is also a great trout fishing lake. It is particularly successful for jigging and producing large Rainbow Trout. We recommend a four hour minimum charter on this lake.

Salt water fishing

Salt water fishing can be provided at great rates from Tauranga or the Footage courtesy of www.basicinstincts.co.nz Eastern Bay of Plenty.

Target species such as snapper, gurnard, kahawai and kingfish, or head into deeper water for exciting hapuku fishing.

We are happy to cater to your needs and specialise in designing hunt/fish packages so that you can experience the best of both worlds during your holiday.
