Fishing
Salt water or fresh water fishing? Basic Instincts Aotearoa can provide you with both.
New Zealand is renowned for some of the best fishing locations in the world, complete with the most picturesque postcard backdrops.
There are an abundance of crystal clear rivers and streams in the Central North Island. Within the Rotorua region alone you have a choice of 14 lakes providing the angler with an overwhelming choice.
Each of these rivers and streams offer quite different challenges with fish size and numbers varying considerable depending on the time of the year.
For fly fishing, we have engaged the services of a well known fishing icon, Simon Robertson, who is a very experienced guide in wilderness fly fishing. He will supply you with all the top of the line gear and take you to selected top locations. Lake fishing is great also, especially for larger parties. Harling, jigging, trolling, and spinning can be provided for up to 4 adults from the boat during a Lake fish.
We also link with experienced Charter operators in the Bay of Plenty to provide salt water fishing options, complementing hunting in this region.
Whether you are a novice looking to catch your first fish, or an experienced angler looking for a trophy, your experience will be in some of the finest fishing waters.
